How to Collect an EV Code Signing Certificate?
Step-by-step Guide to Collect an EV Code Signing Certificate
An EV code signing certificate is issued after completing the thorough examination. If you’ve recently been issued an EV Code Signing certificate but are unsure about the collection process, don’t worry!
But before we explore that in detail, let’s try to understand and explore the contents of the certificate package you received from the CA.
Contents of the Comodo EV Code Signing Package
The Comodo EV code signing certificate package comprises the following components:
Hardware security module-based card
The Comodo EV code signing certificate package includes a hardware security module-based card. This card contains a chip that securely stores the private key used for code signing.
Reader for the HSM card
You need a compatible reader to access the private key stored on the hardware security module-based card. The EV code signing certificate package includes a reader designed explicitly for the HSM card. This device allows you to read the card and facilitates the secure locking of your applications using the private key.
Acknowledgment letter
The acknowledgment letter contains essential instructions and proves the successful completion of the code signing process.
