However, if you want your application distribution to be done through the App Store or want it to be opened with an enabled Gatekeeper, having a <a href=\"https:\/\/cheapsslweb.com\/code-signing-certificates\">Code Signing certificate<\/a> alone is not enough.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In such cases, you must create a developer account and use Apple Developer Code Signing certificates. This will ensure compatibility with Gatekeeper. These steps are crucial to ensure that your code is signed correctly, ensuring the integrity and authenticity of your software.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Let&#8217;s Begin the Installation<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Apple code signing is done from the command line using their (aptly named) codesign tool.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Code Sign your Software in Mac OS<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">First, if you have used the Mac Keychain Access Manager to obtain your certificate, you must locate it there. <strong>However, if you have not used Keychain Access Manager, follow the below instructions.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Begin by saving the P12 or <a href=\"https:\/\/cheapsslweb.com\/resources\/import-export-ssl-pfx-iis\">PFX file<\/a> on your Mac&#8217;s hard drive.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Next, go to <strong>Applications\/Utilities<\/strong> and launch Keychain Access.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>From there, select<strong> File &#8211;<\/strong>&gt; <strong>Import Items<\/strong> and choose the <strong>PFX\/P12 file<\/strong>.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Then, choose <strong>Login<\/strong> or <strong>System<\/strong> for the certificate destination. Once you hit Enter, you may need to confirm the action.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Note: If you receive the &#8220;CSSMERR_TP_NOT_TRUSTED&#8221; error, you must<em> install an Intermediate certificate on your machine. To do so, view the details of your code signing certificate and locate the Issuer&#8217;s Common Name. After identifying it, download and install the Intermediate certificate that corresponds to the Issuer&#8217;s Common Name.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Following the installation of the Intermediate certificate, using codesign should go without a hitch.
