How VMC (Verified Mark Certificate) Works?
Before Proceed, there are a few prerequisites that must be in place:
DMARC Compliance: Make sure that your domain of the website is DMARC compliant. To make it DMARC compliant, the policy of your site must be either set to “p=quarantine” or “p=reject”.
Make a Trademarked Logo: Logo Must be a Registered Trademark or Official Government Seals to get VMC. Also, SVG logos are accepted for registration process.
Purchase New CMC: You need to buy DigiCert VMC. Once you have a new one, CA (certified authority) will do verification. After a successful verification, CA will issue VMC.
DNS Record Setup: As a domain owner, it is your responsibility to create a BIMI DNS record to connect your domain with the VMC. Once you connect, you can see your logo.
Email Authentication: Each time when you send emails to the clients, the VMC is verified using (DMARC, DKIM, and SPF) to make sure the sender’s identity is correct or fake.
Brand Logo Display Check: If you have your VMC successfully passed, the recipient’s email will be able to see and verify the brand logo next to the email, indicating its authenticity.
